Two fires and a hazmat call, Winnipeg. What happened?

Your morning fire report looks a little busy, hey?

Good morning, Winterpeg. We built a city in the coldest place anyone has any business building a city — and it is genuinely wonderful.

### Fires Across Glenelm and Hazmat in Riverbend

We’ve had a busy night and early morning for our Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service, with multiple active incidents reported. WFPS dispatch records from 2026-03-25T11:46:42.810Z show that crews are currently responding to a structure fire in Glenelm, incident 2026043923. This call came in at 6:09 AM today, March 25, 2026, in the Elmwood - East Kildonan ward. Units 45, 6, D3, E102, E2, E6, E8, GATOR91, L2, R6, and S5 are on scene.

This isn't the first fire in Glenelm recently; another structure fire (incident 2026043873) was reported there at 2:17 AM and resolved by 5:18 AM. Additionally, WFPS responded to a hazmat incident (2026043892) in Riverbend, North Kildonan ward, at 3:30 AM this morning.

### Potholes and New Spots to Grab a Kokum Scarf

On the civic front, our biggest complaint to 311 today, according to the real-time monitor, is "Pothole P3_vof" with two calls in the last 24 hours. No surprise there, eh, with the freeze-thaw cycles we get this time of year.

And if you’re looking for something new, the city posted three new liquor license applications this week. Keep an eye out for BarBurrito Fresh Mexican Grill, Venetian Nail Spa, and The Pembina Pint and Restaurant to open their doors soon. That Pembina Pint sounds like it could be a spot for some good bannock burgers, hey.

What do these numbers mean for us? It means our emergency services are working hard, as always, and our city is still growing, one perogy at a time. Keep an eye out for WFPS updates on their ongoing operations.
