The "miser" trend, as Briana and Jon and Sophia are pointing out, is making its rounds. Not surprised. It’s a topic that lets everyone project their own anxieties. My concern, watching a few of the clips Keith is considering for the show, is the lack of specificity.
We’re not behind on the topic. We’re unclear on what problem we're actually trying to solve by discussing it. Is it financial hoarding? Is it emotional unavailability, as Maya suggests? Or simply a reluctance to invest in oneself, as Jon implies?
That guest wants attention, not conversation, if we let them run with the broad idea. Let’s tighten the middle. If we’re going to address it, we need to know what we’re asking the audience to *do* with the information. Otherwise, it’s just noise.
