City Hall just okayed two big plans. Do you know where?

Your City Hall just okayed more big plans

Alright Calgary, Cassidy Redcloud here, and let's get right into it from City Hall. We've got some movement on the planning front that folks need to hear about. For real though, the Calgary Planning Commission has been busy this week, pushing through several key motions on Wednesday, March 12th, 2026.

**Big Plans Moving Forward**

Specifically, we're talking about two separate reports, CPC2026-0209 and CPC2026-0143, that both got the green light. What does that mean for you? Well, it means the Planning Commission is recommending that City Council give these plans three readings. That's the legislative step before they become official. Commissioners Nathan Hawryluk and Thom Mahler both voted 'Yes' on Report CPC2026-0209, ensuring it passed. Similarly, Charles Boechler, Katherine Wagner, and Chris Hardwicke all voted 'Yes' to carry Report CPC2026-0143. These aren't just minor adjustments; these are proposals that impact how our city grows and develops. It's the kind of stuff that shapes our neighbourhoods and future infrastructure.

This is Calgary — we've seen the boom, we've seen the bust, and we showed up anyway.

What this signals is a continued push for development and change across the city, as these motions now head to the full Council for final approval. Keep an eye on Council's agenda for when these reports will hit the floor.
