Your neighbors are loud, but 11,820 planes are louder.

Okay so, your neighbors are loud but the planes are louder.

### Your biggest complaint isn't about potholes, it's the planes

Nah nah nah, let me explain. You probably think everyone's calling 311 about the potholes big enough to swallow a whole tire, right? Or maybe the graffiti that pops up overnight. But according to the latest 311 service requests, the number one complaint in Chicago right now, by a mile, is **Aircraft Noise Complaint**. We're talking 11,820 requests. That's almost five times more than the 2,661 calls for Potholes in Street and way more than the 1,935 for Graffiti Removal.

It's like, people are just trying to live their lives, and the constant roar overhead is driving them nuts. Maybe it’s the O'Hare expansion or something, but that many calls? It tells you what's really grinding people's gears when they pick up the phone. And, like, "311 INFORMATION ONLY CALLS" is number two at 11,462, which tells me people are just looking for answers, you know?

* **Top 311 Complaints:**

* Aircraft Noise Complaint: 11,820 requests

* 311 INFORMATION ONLY CALL: 11,462 requests

* Pothole in Street Complaint: 2,661 requests

Meanwhile, City Hall is processing a bunch of Express Permits for tuckpointing and masonry repair, like a $40,000 job for 370 square feet of masonry and lintel repair, and a $75,000 permit for "nonstructural interior alteration" in a basement for storage and a prep kitchen. Good to see some money going into maintaining our buildings, especially those old brick beauties you see all over Bridgeport and Pilsen. But it's wild to me that people are more stressed by the sky than the crumbling streets. Gotta wonder if anyone at City Hall hears those planes from their offices.

Chi-Town on the wire — you already know.
