Your neighbors are loud, and City Hall is ignoring 3,417 noise complaints.

Yo, your neighbors are loud, and City Hall ain't doing nothin'.

So look—we all know living in this city means hearing your neighbor's late-night salsa or the dude upstairs doing CrossFit at 3 AM, right? Deadass. But here's the thing: according to the latest 311 data, "Noise - Residential / Loud Music/Party" topped the charts with a wild 3,417 requests. And "Banging/Pounding" wasn't far behind at 2,571. That's a whole lotta folks just tryna get some sleep. The MTA is broken, right? And now our apartments are concert venues.

### What's City Hall Hearin'?

You'd think with all that noise, the folks at City Hall would be focused on quality of life, but the lobbyist registry shows some interesting priorities. Davidoff Hutcher & Citron LLP is out here for Lamar Advertising of Penn LLC, pushing their agenda through 2026. And Higgins Quasebarth & Partners is on the books for Green 78 LLC, also through 2026. While we're all calling 311 about our sleepless nights, big money is talking to City Hall about... well, whatever Green 78 and Lamar Advertising are pushing. That's New York — if you can't keep up, take the bus.

It just makes you wonder if anyone at City Hall is actually listening to the banging and the party music. Maybe they got good soundproofing. Keep an eye on those lobbyist filings; they often show where the real power plays are happening, while the rest of us just want some peace and quiet.
