Your new dream home on Aviation Road just broke ground for $2M

Your new dream home on Aviation Road is getting built

Bonjour, Ottawa! Simone Okafor-Bouchard here, reporting live from just off the Hill, where the real stories are always bubbling up.

You know, sometimes the city's paperwork tells you more than any press conference. Like this new permit for a *two-storey detached dwelling* with a finished basement and walkout at **865 Aviation Road in Ward 1**. The City of Ottawa issued permit #BP 9NEW 24-5505, valued at a cool **$2,066,986**. That's not just a house, c'est une maison de rêve, non? It’s a serious investment in our city’s housing stock, especially as we continue to see demand.

And speaking of development, there's a significant commercial interior alteration happening in Ward 3. Permit #BP 3ALT 26-804 was issued for **4701 Tahoe Boulevard**, for interior alterations on the 2nd and 6th floors, with a value of **$568,320**. It’s interesting to see continued investment in commercial spaces, which points to businesses adapting and growing.

What does this mean for you? It means construction noise and, perhaps, new neighbours. But it also means jobs and ongoing activity in the city. We'll be watching how these large-scale projects, particularly the residential ones, impact the surrounding communities.

The real story is never on the Hill – it’s always just off it.

Catch us on the air for more of what's happening just off the Hill — tune in at mornings.live.
