We had those special weather statements, warnings of potential messes on the roads, making us all keep an eye on the sky before heading out towards the Lift Lock or down George Street. It's a reminder that even in our quiet city, things can shift quickly.

It felt like a week of preparation, really – preparing for weather, preparing for big life changes like finding a new home.
