Philly, your 311 calls are lost in "Miscellaneous." What's up?

Yo, listen, your 311 calls are piling up, or nah?

### What's Up With All These "Miscellaneous" Calls, Philly?

I'm not even gonna hold you, I was looking through the 311 service request data for our city, and somethin' jumped out at me. A whole lotta youse are calling up for "Miscellaneous" issues. Like, not just once or twice, but it's topping the charts for what folks are calling about. We've got multiple "Miscellaneous" requests, and then "Abandoned Vehicle" is right there with 'em. Then more "Miscellaneous" and "Information Request" calls.

Now, when you see "Miscellaneous" pop up that many times at the top of the list, it makes you wonder what kind of specific problems are getting lumped into that big ol' jawn. Is it potholes not getting filled quick enough? Trash that ain't picked up? Or maybe it's just folks not knowing which category to pick when they call in. Either way, it means a lot of our neighbors out here in places like West Philly or South Philly are seeing stuff that needs fixin', and it ain't fitting into a neat little box.

* Top 311 Issue: "Miscellaneous" requests

* Second Top: More "Miscellaneous" requests

* Third Top: Still more "Miscellaneous" requests

* Fourth Top: Yep, you guessed it – "Miscellaneous" requests again

* Fifth Top: "Abandoned Vehicle" requests

This tells me folks are seeing things that need attention, and they're calling City Hall. The fact that "Information Request" is also up there shows people are trying to figure things out, too. We need to keep an eye on how these "Miscellaneous" calls get categorized and addressed, 'cause that's the jawn, Philly — we don't do fake out here. Are these just the weird, one-off problems, or is it a sign that the categories we got ain't cutting it for what youse are dealing with on the block?

That's the jawn, Philly — we don't do fake out here.

Me and the crew break this down every morning, catch it live at mornings.live.
