Saskatoon City Hall was a whole Nollywood production this week

Your City Hall was a whole Nollywood production again!

Saskatoon — seven bridges, two rivers, and something happening you haven't heard about yet. My darlings, this week at City Hall, it felt like everyone was starring in their own mini-series, and the main plot? Real estate, of course!

Okay, so this is actually wild. We started with the drama around that big piece of land in Brighton, near the new Costco. Everyone was ready to debate if the city should sell it or keep it for future development. Some councillors were looking like they'd just heard their favourite jollof rice was finished!

Then, Environment Canada came in with their big announcement about the new greenhouse gas emissions reporting. You know how Saskatoon loves to talk about being green, but then we also love our big trucks. It's a whole thing.

* Brighton land sale debate

* Environment Canada's new emissions reporting

* Ongoing city budget discussions

Really, the whole week was about money and land. Saskatoon is a city that will invite you to a farm-to-table dinner and then make you defend the concept of a city for twenty minutes. This week, City Hall was just showing us all the contradictions.
