Victoria's new ice cream bikes are hitting the streets!

Your city hall just got a lot more fun, and maybe a little sweeter.

Good morning from the island — we're still here, the orcas were spotted at Active Pass, and honestly, life is fine.

Did you know Victoria's really leaning into its "post-haste" persona? It seems so, at least if you look at the recent business licenses issued by City Hall. Two new permits, #40784 and #40447, just went to Hazels Ice Cream Ltd. for bicycle vendors. Yes, that means more mobile sweetness peddling around town. Is there anything more fitting for a sunny afternoon in Beacon Hill Park than ice cream delivered by bicycle? I think not.

But beyond the treats, there are other currents. Arcadia, an entertainment amusement centre, secured license #48095 for 707 Johnson Street. It’s a sign, perhaps, that we're ready for a bit more playful distraction. And for those with furry companions, a new Downtown Veterinary Clinic has popped up at 736 Caledonia Ave, license #22734, ensuring our pets are as well-cared for as we are.

What does this mean for us? Well, it suggests a city that's diversifying its local economy, focusing on both leisure and essential services. Keep an eye out for those ice cream bikes—they’ll be a delightful new fixture.
