United just hiked your bag fees again. ¡Qué barbaridad!

Your bags are costing you more, mi gente!

Okay so, United Airlines, right? Our very own Chicago-based airline, the one you always see at O'Hare, the one my Tío uses when he flies back to Jalisco. They just hiked up their checked bag fees again. Like, another ten bucks for your first checked bag. And the second one? Even more. This is gonna hit people hard, especially those of us who travel to see family, or when you're moving your kids into college, or, you know, just trying to get your life from one place to another without selling a kidney. It feels like every time you turn around, something else is getting more expensive, and it's always the stuff you *need*.

### What This Means for Us

It’s not just about an extra ten dollars. It’s the principle, you know?

* **Family Travel:** My mom, she flies to see her sister in Texas, and she always takes a big suitcase full of stuff. Now that's gonna be even more.

* **Working-Class Families:** For a lot of families in neighborhoods like Little Village or Englewood, ten bucks is a lot. That’s a meal. That’s part of a Ventra card reload.

* **Chicago's Hub Status:** We're a major travel hub, and United is a huge part of that. These fees affect thousands of people flying in and out of our city every single day.

It's just another slap in the face for the working people, you know? While we're out here trying to make ends meet, pay for groceries, keep the lights on, these corporations just keep finding new ways to pick our pockets. And for what? So they can blame "jet fuel costs"? Please. People are trying to get by, and every little bit of this adds up. Chi-Town on the wire — you already know.

Mi gente, you gotta hear what Chelo and the crew said about this on the show this morning — check 'em out live at mornings.live.
