How Montreal is feeling about tonight's game

SHARE

The city's got a knot in its stomach, I tell you.

### What's Got Montreal On Edge

Walking past Schwartz's this morning, you could practically hear the collective sigh from the queue stretching down Saint-Laurent. We're playing the Carolina Hurricanes tonight, and after that last loss, it's not the usual boisterous confidence you hear from the guys at the dépanneur. People are talking about that power play, *tabarnac*. It's like we forget what to do with the man advantage sometimes. You hear it everywhere, from the Plateau to Pointe-Saint-Charles: "Are they *really* ready for the playoffs?" It’s not panic, not yet, but it’s that low hum of anxiety that only a Canadiens fan truly understands when the stakes start getting high. We've got the points, we're third in the Atlantic, but it's the *how* we're getting there that's got everyone biting their nails.

* The power play has fans worried.

* Recent loss has dampened the mood.

* Questions about playoff readiness are everywhere.

Nobody wants to see a repeat of some of the sloppy play we've seen. This city lives and breathes hockey, and the ghosts in the Bell Centre rafters demand more than just 'good enough.' We want to see them *dominate*, to play with that fire that built this franchise. We're not "checked out," non, jamais. We're just… watching. Waiting. And hoping they bring it tonight.

Allez Les Canadiens — Go Habs Go. This is Amélie Boisvert.

My buddy Pascal and the gang are chewing on this every matins — you gotta tune in live at mornings.live.
