Your Canadiens need to forget yesterday. Tonight is new.
Alright, *mes amis*, it's gameday, and we're heading south of the border tonight to face the Buffalo Sabres. You know, I was down by the Bell Centre this morning, grabbing a St-Viateur bagel, and even though we dropped that last one, there's still that hum, you know? That feeling in the air. We're 48-24-10, third in the Atlantic, and we've been playing good hockey – 7-3-0 in our last ten. One loss doesn't erase that. But *tabarnac*, we need to snap back tonight at the KeyBank Center. We can't let a little slip turn into a slide.
What am I watching for? Everything. I want to see fire, passion. I want to see our top line driving play, making those Buffalo Sabres defenders look like they’re stuck in traffic on Decarie. And special teams, *oh la la*. Our power play needs to click. We can't be leaving opportunities on the ice like forgotten wallets at La Banquise. This isn't a measuring stick game, *non*, not really. This is about shaking off the rust, proving that one bad night doesn't define us. It's about getting back to that relentless Canadiens hockey that makes the ghosts in the rafters proud.
* Can our goaltending shut the door tight? We need a brick wall back there.
* Are our young guys going to step up and show some grit?
* Will the veterans lead the charge and set the tone from the first whistle?
* And for the love of Saint Patrick, can we get some clean breakouts?
This is a game to get back on track, to re-establish that winning feeling before we get too comfortable. We need to go into Buffalo and play with that Montreal swagger, that determination that says, "We are the Montreal Canadiens, and we're here to win."
Allez Les Canadiens — Go Habs Go. This is Amélie Boisvert.
