How Toronto is feeling about tonight's game

SHARE

This city is buzzing for tonight, ahlie?

Your Leafs are playing the Washington Capitals at The Bank, and honestly, the mood's wild out here. I was grabbing a double-double at Tim Hortons near Yonge and Bloor this morning, and mans are talking playoffs like it's a lock. You got one guy convinced Matthews is gonna drop a hat trick, then someone else is like, 'Nah, man, we barely beat the Flyers. This team's gonna break my heart again.' It's always this push and pull with us. We're sitting 7th in the Atlantic, barely clinging to that Wildcard #8 spot, but the belief never dies, styll. Everyone’s just hoping for a full 60 minutes tonight, no third-period collapses like we saw last week against Buffalo.

The main talk right now on the street, especially down in Liberty Village and out in Scarborough, is if this team actually has the grit to finish it. We’ve been playing inconsistent, bare OT games, and the last 10 have been a rollercoaster. Folks are just desperate for a solid win, something to make them truly believe this year is different. No one wants another first-round exit, especially with how much talent we got on the roster. It's an emotional night for sure, everyone's on edge.

Leafs Nation — we ride til we die, styll.

My man Keith and the crew are dissecting all this madness every single morning, check 'em live at mornings.live.
