Here's what happened to the Toronto Maple Leafs last night (WSH 4, TOR 0)

The Toronto Maple Leafs are losing it, you know?

### What Happened Last Night

Mans, I don't even know what to tell you. The Toronto Maple Leafs got absolutely blanked by the Washington Capitals last night, 4-0 at The Bank. No goals, zero, nada. It was a shutdown, styll. Dylan Strome got the first one for Washington in the first period, and then in the second, Ryan Leonard and Martin Fehérváry put two more past us quick, like a one-two punch that just took all the air out of the building. We barely put up 20 shots! Twenty! Meanwhile, Washington only had 21. That tells you everything – low-event hockey, and we were on the wrong side of it. Cayden Hutson capped it off in the third, just rubbing salt in the wound. You could hear a pin drop in the stands, even louder than the traffic on the DVP during rush hour.

### Where We Go From Here

This loss is just another gut punch, ahlie? We're sitting at 32-32-14, 78 points, chilling in 8th in the Atlantic, and barely hanging on to that Wild Card spot. Actually, we're Wild Card #9 now. NINE! This is not where we're supposed to be in April, mans. Our last ten games? Three wins, five losses, two overtime losses. That's not a playoff team. That’s a team that’s trying to figure out how to fold laundry. We need to wake up, because the clock is ticking. Every game from here on out is do-or-die, no exaggeration.

* **Goals Scored:** Zero. Not one.

* **Shots on Goal:** 20 for Toronto, 21 for Washington. Yikes.

* **Key Opponent Players:** Dylan Strome (1 goal, 1 assist), Martin Fehérváry (1 goal, 1 assist) were tearing us up.

* **Standings Impact:** Dropped us to Wild Card #9. We need a serious run.

The mood in Toronto this morning? It's glum, styll. You can feel it on the subway, in the coffee shops downtown. Everyone's just shaking their heads. We need a win, and we need it now, before this season completely slips through our fingers like a greased-up Jamaican patty.

Leafs Nation — we ride til we die, styll.

Mans like Sid and the crew are gonna be going off about this one this morning – tune in at mornings.live!
