Some good morning, buddy — this is Halifax, and we have stories.
### What's happening with housing? Here's the latest from CREA
Well now, folks are always talking about the housing market here in Halifax, aren't they? And for good reason, my son. It feels like every time you turn around, someone new is moving to the North End, or a crane is up over by the harbour. So, I was looking through the Canadian Real Estate Association's (CREA) latest intel, and it caught my eye, buddy.
CREA’s REAL TIME podcast, which is a big national show, is getting a new host in 2025. It’s Shaun Majumder, the comedian and actor. Now, I know what you're thinking – what's that got to do with a two-bedroom on Gottingen Street? But it shows you the kind of attention real estate is getting across the country. And the other thing that really stood out, from their Episode 72, was about making the real estate journey more accessible, with guest Jeffrey Kerr talking about clients facing mobility, visual, or auditory barriers. That’s important, because moving to Halifax should be something everyone can do, not just some. It’s a good reminder that not everyone's looking for a waterfront condo down by Pier 21.
We've got to keep an eye on how these national conversations about accessibility and market trends filter down to us, especially with all the new folks coming to our shores.
