### Your street trash is a huge deal right now
Oye, so everyone's always talking about housing, right? And like, it's super important, ya sabes. But looking at the latest 311 request data, what's literally taking over people’s minds, like their number one complaint to the city, is trash. No mames, it’s not even close.
We’re talking almost 8,800 requests for "Item Pickups" and another 7,186 for "Illegal Dumping Item Pickup." That’s like, over 15,000 calls just about junk on the streets. Graffiti removal is up there too, with almost 3,000 requests. It's way more than the calls about homelessness encampments, which were around 1,750. Think about that for a second. People are calling more about a couch on the sidewalk than about our neighbors living without shelter. It just shows you what's right there, in everyone's face, every single day, you know?
What does this mean for us? It means our neighborhoods, especially east of the 110, are literally drowning in stuff people just toss out. The city's gotta figure out how to keep our streets clean, not just build more luxury condos nobody asked for.
That's the real LA, fam — east of the 110.
