Regina's home prices just hit another high, what's next?

Your housing market is still making waves, eh?

This is Regina — yeah, we know what it sounds like, and we've heard your joke. Now sit down and listen.

*Tânisi* Regina. Darlene Chicken-Lawson here, giving you the rundown of what we’ve been chatting about this week from City Hall. It's been a whole week, hasn't it? And *oh for sure*, we've been talking about the housing market.

It's just been something else to see the prices keep climbing, even for those smaller places out in Normanview or down by the lake. It feels like every day there's a new story about how hard it is for young families, or *nikâwiy* trying to downsize, to find something affordable. We're seeing more people looking outside the city limits, too, heading out towards Pilot Butte or even Balgonie, just to get a bit more bang for their buck.

Here’s the thing we heard this week:

* Home prices are up again, higher than we expected.

* Rental vacancies are still really tight, pushing rents up.

* City Council is still trying to figure out how to make housing more accessible.

It's a tough spot, eh? Especially when you're just trying to find a good place to raise your *ôtêms*. We'll keep an eye on it for you.
