Now, for something that's gonna make my Scarborough people cheer: the Scarborough Community Council is putting in WORK. On April 30, 2026, they approved a Youth Innovation Hub Initiative at the Scarborough Civic Centre. Councillors Michael Thompson and Neethan Shan both voted Yes, and it passed 6-0. This is huge, fam! We're talking about investing in our youth, right here in Scarborough, giving them the resources they need to thrive. It’s about time we get more of these initiatives outside the downtown core.

They also approved Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments for 1710 and 1712 Ellesmere Road on the same day, April 30, 2026, with a 4-0 vote. This is going to shape what our neighbourhoods look like, and it’s good to see positive movement for Scarborough from our local council.
