Your city hall has a new place to play, literally
Good morning from the island — we're still here, the orcas were spotted at Active Pass, and honestly, life is fine. We’re talking about city permits today, and what they tell us about the hum of things here in Victoria.
Well, here's the thing: It seems like we’re about to get a new spot for some good old-fashioned amusement.
* Arcadia, an "Entertainment - Amusement Centre," just secured a business licence (number 48095) for 707 Johnson Street. That's right in the heart of downtown, near all the bustle.
* Another interesting item from the recent permits list is Hazel’s Ice Cream, which now has two mobile bicycle vendor licences (numbers 40784 and 40447). Does this mean more bicycle ice cream vendors cycling through James Bay? One certainly hopes.
* We also see a new Downtown Veterinary Clinic setting up shop at 736 Caledonia Avenue (licence number 22734). Good news for our furry friends, perhaps.
What does this tell us? Well, the new amusement centre at 707 Johnson Street suggests a fresh energy coming to that part of town. It’s always interesting to see how these new businesses weave themselves into the fabric of our city, isn’t it? Keep an eye on Johnson Street to see how this new entertainment spot changes the rhythm of the neighbourhood.
