Your city hall approved ice cream and arcades
Good morning from the island — we're still here, the orcas were spotted at Active Pass, and honestly, life is fine.
Well, here's the thing about what’s been happening down at City Hall. While the cherry blossoms are getting ready to burst, a couple of interesting new businesses have quietly secured their licenses. Are we seeing a shift in what Victoria needs? Perhaps.
According to recent business licence approvals, it seems we’ll have more options for summertime treats and a bit of old-school fun.
* HAZELS ICE CREAM LTD, a bicycle vendor, has received not one, but two mobile licenses (numbers 40784 and 40447). You’ll likely spot them pedalling around town soon enough.
* ARCADIA, an amusement centre, is setting up shop at 707 Johnson Street (Licence #48095). Remember those days of popping quarters into machines? It seems they're making a comeback.
It’s always fascinating to see what new ventures decide to call Victoria home. These additions suggest a leaning towards leisure and community gathering, which, honestly, feels very much like us. Keep an eye on Johnson Street for the lights and sounds of Arcadia.
That's the latest from the Empress.
