Your 1,182 tree trimming requests? City Hall said no.

Your City Hall is too busy to trim our trees

Okay so— Chi-Town on the wire, you already know. Let's talk about what's happening at City Hall, because it affects all of us, from Hyde Park to Rogers Park. I was looking at the 311 service requests, and something jumped out: they're not even *accepting* requests for tree trimming anymore. Like, 1,182 people tried to get a tree trimmed, and the city just said 'nah.' Meanwhile, "Information Only Calls" are over 12,000, and aircraft noise complaints? Almost 9,000. People are calling for *info* or to complain about planes, but you can't even get a tree trimmed.

### Priorities, people!

It makes you wonder, right? We got potholes (2,455 requests) and graffiti (1,946 requests) that need fixing, but the city’s just like, "Don't even bother asking about trees." It's like they're telling us to just deal with the branches falling on our cars, or blocking the streetlights, or whatever. What are we paying taxes for if not for basic city services? And don't even get me started on the development permits—lots of new garages going up for $30,000, $35,000, but no tree care. It's wild.

We gotta watch what they prioritize next. Are they gonna bring back tree trimming, or are we just gonna have to live with these wild trees everywhere? It's about what our neighborhoods look like, what our streets feel like.

Chi-Town on the wire — you already know.

Mi gente, you gotta hear what the crew says about this every morning. Check it out at mornings.live.
