Your city has a lot of junk lying around
Okay so check it — I was digging through the latest 311 requests, you know, what Angelenos are actually asking the city to fix, and it's like, no mames, we literally have a trash problem. The number one complaint, by a landslide, is "Item Pickups" with 8,667 requests. Right behind that? "Illegal Dumping Item Pickup," hitting 7,153 requests.
Think about that, fam. That's almost 16,000 calls just for people wanting junk off their streets. That's more than double the "Graffiti Removal" calls, which were also high at almost 5,000 combined. It just shows you what people are seeing every day on their block, like when you're driving down Slauson and someone just left a whole couch out there. This isn't about fancy new pools getting added, like that one permit for a pool equipment room from back in 2015, this is about basic stuff, you know?
These numbers from the 311 service requests are literally telling us what matters most to residents right now. It means the city's gotta put serious resources into keeping our neighborhoods clean. Let's see if the next budget actually reflects that.
