Peterborough's quiet week still means big housing worries for you

Your City Hall Week: A quiet flow, but some currents still run deep

Here's the thing about Peterborough, sometimes the water levels are just... still. This past week, the usual flow of civic data from City Hall was remarkably quiet. It felt like the open data portal itself decided to take a little nap, leaving us with a bit of a calm before... well, before whatever comes next.

But even in the quiet, some currents still run.

* We saw a lot of chatter about the real estate market, with the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) highlighting the challenges of finding a place to call home here in the Electric City.

* The conversation also drifted to how we deal with what Mother Nature throws our way, especially when the river's edge feels a little too close.

It’s a reminder that even when the data doesn't spill over, the underlying concerns about housing and our relationship with the land and water continue to shape our days.

This is the Electric City — small town, big current. Let's go.

For more deep dives into the currents of our city, you can always find us at mornings.live.
