What's going on with your wooder, Philly?
Listen, y'all been calling City Hall about a bunch of random stuff, but the 311 service requests data just dropped, and lemme tell you, it's a head-scratcher. "Miscellaneous" is the top category? And not just once, but twice on the list of top issues, with a question mark next to the number of requests. What in the world does "miscellaneous" even mean when you're tryna get something fixed in your neighborhood? Is it a pothole that don't fit the pothole category? Is it a squirrel playing hopscotch on your power lines? I'm not even gonna hold you, that's just some wild jawn.
Then you got "Parks and Rec Safety and Maintenance" right up there too, also with a question mark. This is important, especially now that the weather's getting nice and everybody's tryna hit Fairmount Park or Clark Park for a picnic, or the kids wanna play in the spraygrounds. We need our parks right, or nah? So what exactly is going on that people gotta call 311 about? This lack of specificity makes it hard to see what the city's actually doing to address these concerns. It's like they're telling us they're busy, but not with what.
* Top 311 issues include:
* Miscellaneous: ? requests
* Miscellaneous: ? requests
* Parks and Rec Safety and Maintenance: ? requests
I'm telling you, this data makes you wonder what kind of "information requests" are also piling up at City Hall. Are people just calling to find out what "miscellaneous" means? Because I might be one of 'em. We need clarity on these jawns if we tryna hold our reps accountable. What are we gonna watch for next? Hopefully, some actual numbers and a clearer breakdown of what's bothering folks.
That's the jawn, Philly — we don't do fake out here.
Kee.
