Philly, City Hall is finally doing something
Listen, I'm not even gonna hold you. Sometimes it feels like City Hall is moving slower than the Girard Avenue trolley on a rainy day, or nah? But we got some movement on the development front, which is good for jobs and just getting some of these vacant lots filled in.
Here's the jawn:
* **Plumbing Permits:** We're seeing a bunch of PP_PLUMBNG permits getting issued. Now, I can't give you the exact number since they didn't list it, but the fact that "PP_PLUMBNG" showed up three times and "BP_FIRESUP" only once tells you where the action is. This means folks are either fixing up old spots or building new ones that need proper wooder lines.
* **Fire Suppression:** Only one BP_FIRESUP permit, which is for fire suppression. Now that's important for safety, especially with all these old rowhomes and new builds, but it's not as frequent as the plumbing permits.
What does this mean for youse? Well, all this plumbing activity could be a sign that construction is picking up, creating jobs for our skilled trades, and maybe even getting some of these long-empty buildings on the 52nd Street corridor or down South Philly fixed up. It’s a good sign for local businesses that supply materials too. We gotta keep an eye on *where* these permits are going, so we can make sure every neighborhood gets a piece of that jawn.
That's the jawn, Philly — we don't do fake out here.
