Philly City Hall issued ZERO new permits last week. What gives?

Your City Hall is barely doing anything, or nah?

Listen, y'all. I'm not even gonna hold you, checking in with City Hall these days feels like looking in an empty wooder ice freezer at Rita's in December. According to the civic data we just got, there ain't a whole lot shaking in terms of new development or even demolition permits. Like, zero new residential building permits, zero BP_NEWCNST, zero new zoning stuff, and zero demo permits.

### The Big Chill at City Hall

That's wild, right? Usually, even if it's just a couple of rowhomes getting knocked down to put up some new jawns in South Philly, there's *something*. But this report? Flatlined. It makes you wonder what's going on down there at 1400 JFK Boulevard. Are they just pushing paper, or are we in a full-on development freeze? You see cranes all over Fishtown and Brewerytown, so where's the paperwork?

This ain't just about big developers, either. This stuff impacts everything, from jobs in the trades to the cost of rent in our neighborhoods. We need to watch this space closely to see if this is just a quiet week, or if it's a sign of a deeper slowdown that's gonna hit us hard.

That's the jawn, Philly — we don't do fake out here.
