Philly's still calling 311 about trash. What's up with that?

Your trash is piling up, or nah?

Listen, youse know how it is. You put your bins out, you expect that jawn to get picked up. But according to the latest 311 service request data, "Rubbish/Recyclable Material Collection" is still one of the top eight issues folks are calling about. I'm not even gonna hold you, that's wild. People are hitting up 311 'cause their trash ain't moving. That's a basic service. We pay taxes for that, or nah?

And then there's "Dangerous Sidewalk" also on that list. I'm telling you, I just saw a scooter jawn wipe out near City Hall on a cracked slab. We need safe wooder ice walks, people! This ain't just about making the city look pretty; it's about safety, especially with all the foot traffic in places like the Italian Market. If you can't walk to get your DiNic's sandwich without tripping, that's a problem.

The city's gotta get these fundamental services right. We can talk about big development projects all day, but if the basics are off, what are we even doing? Keep an eye on how quickly these 311 requests get closed out, because that's the real measure of whether they hear us.

That's the jawn, Philly — we don't do fake out here.

Kee.

Yo, me and the crew chop it up about this kinda jawn every morning on the show. Tap in live at mornings.live.
