Your city hall is really getting into plumbing, or nah?
Listen, I'm not even gonna hold you, City Hall is quiet as a mouse this week when it comes to the big jawn development projects. My sources on the inside, the ones who usually got the juice, were like, "Keisha, it's crickets." We got no new electrical permits, no demolition permits, which honestly, is kinda wild for Philly. Usually, somebody's tearing something down in Fishtown or putting up some glass tower in Center City, or nah?
But get this, the only permits that popped up this week, according to the official City Hall data, are three separate plumbing permits. Just straight-up plumbing. PP_PLUMBNG, PP_PLUMBNG, PP_PLUMBNG. This could be anything from a new sink at a Wawa to a whole new wooder system for a rowhome out in Mayfair.
* Three PP_PLUMBNG permits issued.
* Zero electrical or demolition permits this week.
* This suggests smaller-scale, internal renovations over major construction.
What does this mean for us? Probably just a slow week for big-money developers. But it also means folks are still fixing up their spots, keeping the city moving, one leaky pipe at a time. We'll see if the big boys show up next week with their cranes and their fancy blueprints.
That's the jawn, Philly — we don't do fake out here.
