Your Saskatoon council drama was a whole Nollywood film!

Your City Hall drama was a whole Nollywood film!

Saskatoon — seven bridges, two rivers, and something happening you haven't heard about yet. My darlings, what a week at City Hall! It was like a Nollywood film with plot twists at every corner, minus the dramatic slow-motion falls.

Okay, so this is actually wild. The big conversation has been around the proposed convention centre expansion. It's been on and off the table more times than jollof rice at a family reunion! Council keeps going back and forth on funding and whether it’s truly what the city needs right now.

* The convention centre expansion dominated debates.

* Council members are divided on the funding and necessity.

* Discussions included potential private partnerships and public debt.

Then, just as we were sorting that out, Environment Canada dropped a special weather statement, warning us about a proper prairie snowstorm coming our way. Saskatoon is a city that will invite you to a farm-to-table dinner and then make you defend the concept of a city for twenty minutes. Now it’s giving us blizzards in April! It’s never a dull moment.
